Carson-Newman Reclaims South Atlantic Conference Athletic Excellence Award for 2006

The South Atlantic Conference Athletic Excellence Award is symbolic of the most successful athletic department following each sports year.

The award is presented annually to the athletic department that earns the highest overall finish based on regular season standings throughout the year.

Points are awarded on a 8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1 system based on the final regular season standings for each sport.

The sports of men's cross country, women's cross country, men's tennis, women's tennis and men's golf earn points toward the award based on the final conference tournament standings.

The trophy is presented at the SAC Annual Meeting each May.
