GREENEVILLE, Tenn.- Megan Mainer's (Raleigh, N.C.) goal in the 47th minute was all the scoring the Catawba Indians would need as they downed the Bears of Lenoir-Rhyne College 1-0 in the finals of the women's soccer Food Lion South Atlantic Conference Fall Sports Festival.

Mainer's goal came on an assist by Lisa DeMeyer (Jamestown, N.C.) on a header off a corner kick and lifted Catawba to a 15-2-1 overall record. The Bears, who advanced to the finals by upsetting top-seed Tusculum on Saturday, fall to 13-5-2.

Catawba's victory gives them a total of six SAC Tournament championships with a perfect 6-0 record in championship matches. The defense was the name of the game for the Lady Indians, as they did not allow a goal the entire tournament. Leading that charge was senior goalkeeper Kim Clayton (Haw River, N.C.), who holds the SAC record for most career shutouts with 32.
