Threat of Weather Moves Up Baseball Championship Play

April 27, 2002

NEWBERRY, SC – The South Atlantic Conference announced Saturday that Sunday’s final day of championship baseball will be moved up two hours to noon due to the threat of forecasted weather.

The originally scheduled 2 p.m. game will take place at Kirkland Field and will feature the Catawba College Indians versus the winner of game thirteen between Carson-Newman College and Tusculum College taking place Saturday night. If Catawba loses, there will be a second game to take place 30 minutes after game one, as per double elimination guidelines.

Sunday’s baseball will be the culmination of the six-sport, two site Food Lion/South Atlantic Conference Spring Sports Festival.
