SAC Championship

The tenth annual Food Lion Spring Sports Festival will be held April 23-27, 2003, in the Newberry, SC, and Clinton, SC areas.

The festival combines the league’s six spring tournaments (baseball, softball, men’s tennis, women’s tennis, men’s golf and women’s golf) into an exciting athletic atmosphere that encompasses the entire communities.

In addition, the SAC Spring Sports Awards Program and Banquet will be held Wednesday, April 23 at 6:00 p.m. in Templeton Gym on the Presbyterian Campus.

All-tournament tickets for the baseball and softball tournaments are $12.00 for adults and $6.00 for students and children, while daily tickets are $6.00 for adults, $3.00 for students and children, and $2.00 for college students with valid ID. Tickets are good for both baseball and softball tournaments. Admission to all men’s tennis, women’s tennis, and golf events is free to the general public.

The baseball tournament will be held at the Newberry College and Newberry High Schools fields, while the softball tournament is played at Intramural Park at Presbyterian College.

The men’s and women’s tennis tournaments rotate each year between Newberry and Presbyterian. This year’s schedule has the men’s tournament at Newberry, while the women will compete at Presbyterian.

The men’s golf tournament is played at Lakeside Country Club in Clinton, while the women’s tournament will be played at Mid-Carolina Country Club in Newberry County.

For more specific information about Newberry and Clinton communities, contact their respective Chamber of Commerce. For specific information on the colleges and teams participating in the Festival, contact the applicable member school athletic department.

For complete results during the Festival, check back often.

The Festival concept was initiated in 1994 by the league’s Athletic Directors. It was held in Salisbury, NC for the first six years, before moving to Clinton and Newberry.

For all competition, see Master Schedule.
