2004 Food Lion SAC Women's Golf Championship:
Lenoir-Rhyne Wins Title |

ROCK HILL, SC - The Lenoir-Rhyne Bears are the winners of the Food Lion South Atlantic Conference (SAC) Women's Golf Championship. The Bears turned in a final score of 326-327-328-981 to claim the SAC title for the second consecutive year. The Catawba Lady Indians made a huge comeback in the third round to cut a 13-stroke lead to only six in the final round. The Lady Indians fired a 321 on Friday to finish in second place with a score of 334-332-321-987. Wingate was third (342-345-334-1021) and Tusculum rounded out the scoring (348-353-338). Catawba had the two top individual scores. Paige Haverty (Greenville, N.C.) had a 76- 79-76-231 to take home the individual championship. Teammate Kristen Kyle (Greer, S.C.) shot 80-79-76-235 to place second. Other medalists included Lenoir-Rhyne's Emily Allen (Turner, Maine) 79-77-80-236, Audrey Morgan (Midland, N.C.) 75-84-80-239 and Lenoir- Rhyne's Carlie Gordon (Manchester, Md.) 81-81-80-242. |
