Catawba salvaged a split with host Mars Hill in South Atlantic Conference baseball action on Saturday afternoon, giving the fourth-ranked Indians a share of the regular season league crown. Meanwhile, Tusculum swept its twinbill with Presbyterian, and coupled with Catawba's split, the Pioneers also claim a share of the SAC regular season championship.

Jan 19 -- Tusculum College Picked To Win 2006 SAC Baseball Title
Tusculum College, which won the 2005 South Atlantic Conference championship, as well as the Food Lion South Atlantic Conference Tournament, is expected to continue its previous success and win another title. Catawba College is tabbed to finish second in a vote of the conference's baseball coaches.

Apr 24 -- Food Lion South Atlantic Conference Baseball Championship: Tusculum Forces Second Title Game, Then Wins 2005 Crown
The Tusculum Pioneers got timely hitting and solid pitching to capture their first-ever Food Lion South Atlantic Conference Championship, defeating No. 3 seed Carson-Newman 9-4 Sunday afternoon at Pioneer Park. The Pioneers had earlier forced another championship game with the Eagles, downing Carson-Newman 16-9.

Apr 16 -- Catawba Clinches Share of 2005 SAC Regular Season Baseball Title; Takes Two from MHC
17th-ranked Catawba College recorded a 9-0, 8-0 doubleheader sweep of visiting Mars Hill College on Saturday afternoon in South Atlantic Conference baseball action at Newman Park. With the wins, Catawba clinches a tie for the SAC Championships as well as the top seed in next week’s tournament.

Jan 14 -- Catawba College Picked to Win 2005 SAC Baseball Title
Catawba College, which won the 2004 South Atlantic championship and Food Lion SAC Tournament, is expected to continue its winning ways. The Indians have been picked to win the 2005 championship in a vote by the league’s eight head baseball coaches. The Indians placed five players on the preseason All-Conference Team. Tusculum College is picked to finish second.

The Catawba Indians swept host Carson-Newman, 12-6 and 10-6, in South Atlantic Conference baseball action on Saturday afternoon. The wins, coupled with Wingate's two wins against Tusculum, clinched the SAC regular season title for Catawba, its first since 1993.

Tusculum College, which finished as runner-up in the 2003 Food Lion South Atlantic Conference Baseball Tournament and returns All-American third baseman Guy O’Connell, has been picked to win this year’s regular season championship. Carson-Newman College, last year’s regular season champions, received one first-place vote and is picked to finish second.
