Food Lion SAC Tournament
Most Valuable Player

Sean Barnette, Wingate University

Wingate University sophomore forward Sean Barnette (Rock Hill, S.C.), who helped lead the Bulldogs to the Food Lion South Atlantic Conference men's basketball tournament championship, was named the tournament's Most Valuable Player.

Barnette led all scorers with 21 points to go along with a game-high 14 rebounds in Sunday's 60-51 victory over Presbyterian in the championship game. Barnette led the Bulldogs with 24 points and 11 rebounds in a quarterfinal victory over Newberry, and then added 18 points and nine rebounds Wingate's semifinal upset over top seed Lenoir-Rhyne.

For the tournament, he averaged 21 points and 11.3 rebounds and made 56.8 percent of his shots from the floor (24-of-44).

Also named to the All-Tournament team were Wingate center Bryan Grier (Charlotte, N.C.), Presbyterian's Johann Collins (Raleigh, N.C.) and Sean Dixon (Marietta, Ga.) and Lenoir-Rhyne's Josh Kindred (Holly Springs, N.C.).

The South Atlantic Conference Player of the Week is determined by a vote of the eight sports information directors of the league.
