Oct 29 -- Presbyterian Clinches 2005 SAC Football Title
Presbyterian College senior quarterback Zach Ellis tossed three touchdown passes and redshirt junior running back Corey Fidler topped the 100-yard plateau as the Blue Hose defeated Wingate University 27-21 Saturday afternoon at Irwin Belk Stadium and John R. Martin Field on the Wingate campus. The Blue Hose clinch the 2005 SAC regular season championship with the win.

Jul 22 -- Carson-Newman Favored in SAC Preseason Football Polls; Coaches, Media Agree Eagles Will Capture Title
The Carson-Newman Eagles are the favorite to win the South Atlantic Conference football title in votes by both the league’s eight head football coaches and the media. The polls were released in conjunction with the annual preseason football media day that was held in Salisbury, N.C., on Friday.

Jul 22 -- Carson-Newman, Lenoir-Rhyne Lead Way With 10 on Preseason All-SAC Football Team
Lenoir-Rhyne College senior linebacker Tim Clarke, the reigning Defensive Player of the Year, is one of a league-high 10 Bears football players named to the Preseason All-South Atlantic Conference Football Team, as selected by the league’s eight Sports Information Directors. Carson-Newman, the preseason favorite to win the conference championship, also had 10 preseason All-Conference picks.
