Catawba's Haverty Qualifies for US Women's Amateur Golf Championship

Paige HavertyCatawba College women's golfer, Paige Haverty, a rising sophomore, has qualified for the United States Golf Association's Women's Amateur Championships. Haverty shot a 75 and was one of seven to qualify from the July 15 qualifier held at the Bethesda Country Club in Bethesda, MD.

The US Women's Amateur will be held from August 4-10 at the Philadelphia Country Club in Gladwyne, PA.

Haverty was coming off a runner-up finish, losing in a playoff, earlier this summer in the North Carolina Women's Amateur Tournament.

Kristen Kyle, a rising senior with the Lady Indians golf program, qualified for the US Amateur Public Links Championship for the second straight year. She shot rounds of 81 and 84 at the Ocean Hammock Golf Club in Palm Coast, FL, placing 100th in the 143 player field. She missed qualifying for the match play round by seven shots.
