C-N's Ball Named to Academic All-District At-Large Team

JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. – Carson-Newman senior tennis player Justin Ball (Newport, Tenn.) has been named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District IV College Division Men's At-Large team, college officials announced today.

Ball helped lead the Eagles to a third-place finish in the South Atlantic Conference and an appearance in the NCAA Division II National Tournament. Ball has a 3.92 gpa in Management. He was a member of the SAC Commissioner’s Honor Roll and Dean’s List every semester. Ball was named the Sagebrush Male Scholar-Athlete of the Year for 2003-04.

Members of the CoSIDA Academic All-District team are voted on by the sports information directors in District IV which is comprised of colleges and universities from Alabama, Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio and Tennessee.

Ball now advances to the national ballot where he will be considered for Academic All-American honors. Members of that team will be announced in June.
