Newberry's Stepp Named D2Football.com National Offensive Player of Week

LIBERTY, MO. - Newberry quarterback Josh Stepp (Pelion, S.C.) has been named one of three D2football.com national offensive players of the week for his performance in Newberry's 43-37 double overtime win over Catawba.

Stepp set two Newberry records in the Indians' 43-37 win over Catawba. The junior quarterback was 33-56 passing for 425 yards and a school-record six touchdowns. He also rushed for 58 yards, giving him 483 yards of total offense on the day.

Antwan Surratt (Spartanburg, S.C.) received D2football.com's honorable mention for his part in the win. He caught 13 passes for 178 yards and two touchdowns, his first scores of the season.

Earlier in the week, Stepp was named the South Atlantic Conference offensive player of the week.
