Newberry's Stepp Named Don Hansen National Offensive Player of Week

PITTSBURG, Kan. - Josh Stepp (Pelion, S.C.) was named one of four Don Hansen's Football Gazette Division II national offensive players of the week for his record-setting performance last Saturday. The Indians prevailed over Catawba, 43-37, in two overtimes.

Stepp set two Newberry records in the Indians' 43-37 win over Catawba. The junior quarterback was 33-56 passing for 425 yards and a school-record six touchdowns. He also rushed for 58 yards, giving him 483 yards of total offense on the day.

Earlier in the week, Stepp was honored as a D2football.com national offensive player of the week and as the South Atlantic Conference offensive player of the week.
