ROCK HILL, SC – The South Atlantic Conference and Time Warner Cable have announced a 14-game television package for the 2005-06 basketball season. This is a four-game increase over the original television deal the league signed with Time Warner Cable last February.

Time Warner Cable will broadcast four regular-season conference men’s and women’s doubleheaders, as well as the four semifinals and two championship games of the 2006 Food Lion South Atlantic Conference tournament, South Atlantic Conference Commissioner Doug Echols announced.

“We are excited about the opportunity to continue our working relationship with Time Warner Cable. “They did an excellent job during the football season, and we are looking forward to bringing more South Atlantic Conference competition to our fans.”

Time Warner Cable produced five regular season football games during the fall. The regular-season basketball and tournament semifinals will be shown on Time Warner Cable outlets. The men’s and women’s championship games will also be shown on Comcast/Charter Sports South. All games will be shown on a taped-delay basis.

Time Warner will also produce and distribute a preseason SAC basketball special, expected to air in December.

The televised schedule:

  • Mars Hill at Catawba, January 18
  • Lenoir-Rhyne at Newberry, January 25
  • Tusculum at Presbyterian, February 22
  • Carson-Newman at Wingate, February 25.

The Food Lion SAC Tournament semifinals are March 4 at Catawba Valley Community College in Hickory, N.C., with the finals on March 5.
