Carson-Newmans Brandon Burchfield Burchfield has a perfect 4.0 grade point average in Business Administration. He has been a member of the South Atlantic Conference (SAC) Commissioners Honor Roll and the Carson-Newman Deans List. Burchfield is also a member of Alpha Chi. On the field, Burchfield was second on the team in batting average at .380. He had five doubles, a triple and 25 RBIs. The Maryville native was 31-of-34 in stolen base attempts which places him 27th in Division II in stolen bases per game (0.6). He helped lead the Eagles to a 35-20 record in 2006. Burchfield now advances to the national ballot for Academic All-American consideration. Tusculum's Greg Stotser Stotser, a senior from Columbus, Ga., was named to the 2006 All-South Atlantic Conference First Team last month. He is batting a team-best .369 this season and also leads the squad in home runs (14), runs batted in (58), total bases (123), slugging percentage (.621) and assists (146). His 14 home runs led the league and are already the third most in TC history. He is also eighth all-time at Tusculum in career batting average (.371), seventh in home runs (18), and ninth in slugging percentage (.572). Stotser has a 3.52 cumulative grade point average majoring in Math Education. In his two years at Tusculum, he has been named to the SAC Commissioner's Honor Roll and Athletic Director's Honor Roll every semester. Last month he was named the 2005-06 Tusculum Male Athlete of the Year. Members of the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District team are selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America which includes all colleges and universities from Tennessee, Kentucky, Alabama, Ohio and Michigan which comprise District IV. |
