Individual Session Tickets on sale at the Lenoir-Rhyne and CVCC box office the day of the event. One ticket is good at both locations on Friday, March 5
Adult - $6 per day
Students and children under 12 - $3 per day
College students with ID - $2 per day

The South Atlantic Conference basketball tournaments will be held Friday-Sunday, March 5-7, 2004, at Lenoir-Rhyne College and the Catawba Valley Community College Multipurpose Facility in Hickory, N.C. Winners of the men's and women's championship games gain an automatic berth into the NCAA Division II Basketball Tournament.

    The Catawba College men’s basketball team pulled off its third straight upset at the Food Lion South Atlantic Conference Men’s Basketball Tournament, earning the league’s automatic bid into the NCAA II Regional with an 81-68 win over fourth-seeded Newberry at the Multipurpose Facility at Catawba Valley Community College on Sunday afternoon.

  • Mar 7 -- Food Lion/SAC Women's Basketball Tournament Final: Top-Seed Catawba Rallies to Take Title
    Danyel LocklearTop-seeded Catawba College rallied in the final ten minutes and defeated second-seeded Wingate 74-70 at the Food Lion South Atlantic Conference Women’s Basketball Tournament at the Multipurpose Facility at Catawba Valley Community College on Sunday afternoon. Conference Player of the Year and Tournament Most Valuable Player, Danyel Locklear, posted a double-double with 26 points and 16 rebounds to lead Catawba.

  • Mar 6 -- Food Lion/SAC Men's Basketball Tournament Semifinals: Newberry and Catawba Advance to Title Game
    The No. 4-seeded Newberry College Indians scored the final nine points to rally and defeat the eighth-seeded Mars Hill College Lions, 79-78, Saturday afternoon in the semifinals of the 2004 Food Lion/South Atlantic Conference Men’s Basketball Tournament. In the other semifinal game, seventh-seeded Catawba College Indians advanced to the championship game by upsetting Carson-Newman, 68-61

  • Mar 6 -- Food Lion/SAC Women's Basketball Tournament Semifinals: Catawba and Wingate Advances to Title Game
    The Catawba College women’s basketball team earned its second consecutive berth in the Food Lion South Atlantic Conference Tournament Championship with an 82-64 victory over Tusculum College Saturday afternoon. Wingate University defeated third-seed Lenoir-Rhyne, 91-79, in the other semifinal. Wingate and Catawba meet in the finals Sunday at 4 p.m.

  • Feb 29 -- Catawba Women, Lenoir-Rhyne Men Earn Top Seeds for 2004 Food Lion SAC Basketball Tournament
    The Lenoir-Rhyne College men and the Catawba College women earned the top seed for the Food Lion South Atlantic Conference basketball tournament. For the men, Lenoir-Rhyne and Tusculum finished in a tie for the regular season title and split in their head-to-head meetings, forcing league officials to delve deeper into the tiebreaker process. Catawba, Wingate and Lenoir-Rhyne finished as co-champions in the women’s standings. No coin flip was needed this year as Catawba had a 3-1 record against Lenoir-Rhyne and Wingate.

  • Feb 28 -- Catawba and Wingate Share SAC Women's Basketball Regular Season Crown
    Catawba College earned a share of the South Atlantic Conference women’s basketball championship with a 77-68 victory over host Carson-Newman at Holt Fieldhouse on Saturday night. Catawba improves to 19-8 overall and 11-3 in the SAC and will be the top-seed in next week’s tournament. Wingate also clinched a share of the regular season championship with a 81-72 win over Tusculum College Saturday afternoon at Cuddy Arena.
