SAC Sports Information Directors contributed to these releases CLINTON, SC - Presbyterian College sophomore Lisa Moyer (Florence, SC) won her match at No. 6 singles to lead the top seeded Lady Blue Hose to a 5-4 victory over the No. 2 seeded Tusculum College Pioneers in the championship match of the 2005 Food Lion South Atlantic Conference Women's Tennis Championship held Saturday afternoon on the Templeton Courts at Presbyterian College. The victory gives the Lady Blue Hose (19-4) their 12th Food Lion SAC Tournament title in the 16-year history of the tournament. Tusculum, the defending SAC Tournament champions, fall to 17-4 on the season. PC secures the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Division II regionals, their 11th straight postseason bid which is the longest consecutive streak in league history in any sport. The Pioneers will await word on an at-large bid. PC took a 2-1 lead after winning at the No. 1 and No. 3 doubles flights. All-SAC selections, Catherine Bankhead (Amarillo, TX) and Taylor Lynch (Myrtle Beach, SC), gave PC an early 1-0 lead after winning 8-5 at the No. 1 doubles flight by defeating TC's All-SAC standouts, Claudia Bolivar (Armenia, Columbia) and Maria Nevarez (Guayaquil, Ecuador). The Pioneers won at No. 2 doubles as All-SAC selections Danae Valderrama (Orlando, FL) and Jobria McCracken (Douglasville, GA) won 8-5. PC's Moyer and fellow Florence, SC native Brittany Lanford held off a Pioneer comeback at No. 3 doubles to win 9-7. TC' s Lindsey Kurtz (Kennesaw, GA) and Bronwyn Hartley (Beamsville, Ontario) fought back from a 7-2 deficit to tie the match at 7-7. Moyer and Lanford closed the set with two straight games to hold on to win 9-7. In singles, PC's Lynch gave the Lady Blue Hose a 3-1 edge by winning 6-1, 6-1 at the No. 4 flight over Kurtz. Tusculum took their first lead by sweeping the top three singles flights to pull ahead 4-3 as Bolivar, Nevarez, and, Valderrama all won in straight sets.Landford evened the match at 4-4 when she defeated McCracken 6-4, 6-3 at No. 5 singles, setting up Moyer's match-clinching win at No. 6 singles.
