Carson-Newman 0 The Blue Hose, who have now won six tournament titles since 1998, took an early 3-0 lead by sweeping all of the doubles matches played against the Eagles. Tusculum 1 The match between the Eagles and Pioneers, which was moved to the Knoxville Racquet Club due to inclement weather, saw the Eagles win two of three doubles matches and the top three singles matches. The win by C-N was the first over the Pioneers in four seasons. Ricardo Gutierrez and Travis Bauguess won number two doubles and Giuseppe Schwartz and Preston Sneed was victorious at number three doubles. Gutierrez and Schwarz won at one and three singles, respectively, and Rafael Soares won the third and deciding set at number two singles. The Eagles face Presbyterian in the finals. Mars Hill 1 The Blue Hose picked up doubles victories from Hector Rincon/Aaron Chapman and Kshitij Dwivedi/Nick Osborne at one and two doubles and won three singles matches. The Blue Hose will face Carson-Newman in the finals of the men's tournament Friday at 4:30 p.m. Presbyterian 5, Mars Hill 1 |
