Box Score Nicole Ringwall (Rose Hill, KS) singled home Jenica Fernandez (Phoenix, AZ) with two outs in the bottom of the eighth to complete a Pioneer rally from a 3-0 deficit after four innings. Fernandez had reached on a single off the glove of Lady Eagle first baseman Lisa Rogers (Rossville, GA) and moved to second when Lisette Vital (Sante Fe Springs, CA) drew a two-out walk. Ringwall then singled up the middle and Fernandez was able to touch the plate as the throw from center got away from the Carson-Newman catcher. The eighth inning hit came on the heels of Brie Griffin's (Glendale, AZ) game-tying three-run homer with two outs in the bottom of the seventh. Vital doubled to open the seventh and Ringwall singled. Carson- Newman pitcher Megan Elliott (Chattanooga, TN) retired the next two hitters before Griffin launched a 2-1 pitch just inside the foul pole down the left field line to tie the score. Carson-Newman had built a 3-0 lead on just three hits over the first four innings. Mandy Stevens (Knoxville, TN) led off the game with a single and scored on a sacrifice fly by Susie Palmer (Kennesaw, GA). A leadoff homerun by Hillary Hammond (Chattanooga, TN) gave the Lady Eagles a 2-0 lead after three. In the fourth, Hillary Howard (Lafayette, TN) drew a two-out walk, went to second on a wild pitch and scored on a single by Jessica Blevins (Watauga, TN). Carson-Newman failed to add to its lead as it left a pair of runners on in both the sixth and seventh innings. Tusculum, who had been kept off the board despite nine hits through six innings, finally broke through in the seventh. The Pioneers pounded out 14 hits in the win, but left 10 on base. Carson-Newman stranded eight baserunners. Fernandez was a perfect 4-for-4 to lead the Tusculum offense, while Griffin chipped in with three hits. Megan Dubois (Chino, CA) earned the win in relief as she shut out the Lady Eagles over four and a third innings on three hits. Hammond had two hits for Carson-Newman. Newberry 6,

Box Score Sarah Lynch (Pompano Beach, FL) hit a two-run homer in the top of the first to give Newberry an early advantage. The Lady Indians added a third run in the opening inning on a RBI double by Betsy Shealy (Leesville, SC). Newberry went back to work in the second inning and took a 5-0 lead following RBI singles from Courtney Lindler (Irmo, SC) and Christina Kirby (Delmar, DE). That was plenty of support for McKenzie Phillips (Wallace, NC), who improved to 7-12 by allowed just a single run on six hits with no walks and three strikeouts. Presbyterian scored its lone run on a two-out single by Shannon Vining (Fayetteville, GA), who had two hits along with Haley Brooks (Tifton, GA). Box Score Ashley Ford (Marietta, GA) led off the second inning for Presbyterian with a homerun to stake the Lady Blue Hose to a 1-0 lead. It was one of only four hits Presbyterian got off L-R pitcher Meredith O'Conner (Charlotte, NC). Lenoir-Rhyne tied the game in the fourth. Chrissy Lunsford (Tyrone, GA) led off with a double, was sacrificed to third and scored on a single by Lindsay Dehart (Graham, NC). The Bears would go on top in the fifth as Taylor Queen (Conover, NC) led off with a single and later scored on a clutch two-out single by Angela Beard (Hickory, NC). Beard was the only player with two hits in the nine-hit Bear attack. O'Connor improved to 19-2 with the win, allowing just the one run with 13 strikeouts. Score The second-seeded Bulldogs improve to 42-8 overall and advance to play Lenoir- Rhyne in the winner's bracket final on Saturday. Carson-Newman (the third-seed) drops to 40-12 overall and will face Tusculum in a loser's bracket game on Friday afternoon. In the bottom of the fourth inning, Sarah Carleton (Powhatan, VA) reached on a fielder's choice and Chester followed with a two-run homer to give the Bulldogs a 2-0 lead. Wingate added two insurance runs in the bottom of the sixth inning. Carleton singled and moved to second on a groundout then Megan McPhail (Wade, NC) stroked an RBI single. McPhail moved to second on an error on her single and then advanced to third on a groundout. She would later score on another Lady Eagle error. McPhail led Wingate at the plate with a two-for-two performance. Carleton was two-for-three. Green (22-5 overall) won her second game in the tournament, striking out seven to notch her 17th complete game of the season. Susie Palmer (Kennesaw, GA) had two of the four Carson-Newman hits. Box Score Newberry had built a 6-2 lead entering the last of the seventh inning, but saw the Lady Lions rally to send the game to extra innings. Mars Hill put together six straight hits to tie the game on a three-run single by Ashley Harber (Goose Creek, SC). Harber was erased trying to go from first to third on an ensuing single for the second out, but two walks loaded the bases. Stephanie Monette (Conway, SC) entered to pitch and retired Felicia Holder (Spruce Pine, NC) on a sinking line drive to center to end the inning. Newberry got a pair of runs in the eighth. After Jenny Raines (Blythewood, SC) was cut down at the plate on a double by Amy Jarrell (Dover, DE) for the second out, Ashley Marine (Peachtree City, GA) stepped in an delivered a two-single to plate the go-ahead run. Newberry would add a second run on a single by Jessica Jackson (Batesburg, SC). Mars Hill put two runners on in its eighth, but Harber's deep fly to left was caught at the fence to end the contest. Jackson had three hits for Newberry, while Sarah Lynch (Pompano Beach, FL) had three RBI. Jenna Pender (Hanahan, SC) and Jessica Valentine (Frederick, MD) each had three this for Mars Hill, who pounded out 16 in the contest to 11 for Newberry. Tusculum 7, Catawba 5
Box Score Tusculum built a 7-1 lead on Catawba and held on despite a four-run seventh for the Lady Indians. Jennifer Doering (Las Vegas, NV) delivered a two-out, tow-run single in the first to stake the Pioneers to an early lead. Tusculum extended the advantage to 5-0 with a RBI-single by Lisette Vital (Santa Fe Springs, CA) in the fourth and run-scoring singles by Jenica Fernandez (Phoenix, AZ) and Jess Greer (Rogersville, TN) in the fifth, all with two outs. Jacqueline White (Mt. Ulla, NC) had a sacrifice fly in the sixth to put Catawba on the board, but Tusculum struck right back on a hit by Greer and a groundout by Vital for the 7-1 edge. Ryann Baker (Rockwell, NC) singled home two runs for Catawba in the seventh and scored on a single by Hillary Hampton (Salisbury, NC), but White grounded out to end the game. Five players enjoyed two hit performances in the 13-hit Pioneer attack. Doering, Greer and Vital each had two RBI. Megan Dubois (Chino, CA) improved to 7-6 was she allowed just two earned runs off seven hits over six innings.
